Alabama Private Utility Scanning

Utility Locating

To ensure the overall, timely success of the job, utility detection is critical to any construction project where subsurface excavation is planned. If ignored, budget overruns can multiply, your schedule can turn chaotic, and there’s the risk of injuries taking place on your job site.

The standard is one-call utility locating, a state-operated public service that is required for every project.  However, the scope of this service can be limited. To achieve the complete success you are looking for you’ll want to connect with an expert private service provider like GPRS.

We can offer you a comprehensive range of reporting options, from a basic field sketch to a full-blown AutoCAD report that will pinpoint buried electrical, water, gas, communication, sewer and storm drain lines. Our report will provide you with a permanent utilities location record for future reference.

Alabama Concrete Scanning

Concrete Scanning

With new build construction and renovation projects, the likelihood of needing to cut or core a concrete slab is high. This means there is an inherent risk of striking rebar, electrical and communications conduits, and post tension cables during the cutting, coring or drilling process. The cost of such mistakes can be high. Unreasonable constraints on already thin budgets can occur, as well as infusing havoc into your schedule and creating a safety hazard for your employees.

Our well-trained, skilled, experienced technicians are accustomed to responding quickly to any service request, especially when your need for concrete scanning is a last-minute discovery. The end result is professional, accurate and timely scanning - exactly the satisfaction you are seeking to mitigate your risk and keep your employees safe.

GPRS Provides Peace of Mind for Crews on Wind Farms - Oklahoma

GPRS was recently contacted by a large energy corporation to locate underground utilities at one of their new wind projects in Oklahoma. The work consisted of using radio detection and ground penetrating radar to locate and mark out utilities that were along the collection lines, transmission lines, and turbine sites on the wind farm. Andy Dermer – GPRS Oklahoma - performed the work by scanning the designated areas and marking the locations of utilities directly on the ground with marking paint, pin flags, and wooden stakes. These findings were also recorded to be used in a Google Earth file for future reference. With renewable energy on the rise, Ground Penetrating Radar can be an invaluable tool to help keep the site safe. Due to the instantaneous results GPRS can provide, the information is immediately available to prevent accidents or injury on the job site.
