GPR Systems Locates PT cables For General Contractor in Catoosa, Oklahoma

When a general contractor needed to core-drill through the elevated post-tension slab to install new electrically powered tables, Wade Vickers of GPRS-Oklahoma was contacted to mark out the post tension cables and reinforcing steel within the drilling areas at the Hard Rock Casino & Resort in Catoosa, OK. The work consisted of scanning each drilling location on the second floor. Due to the urgency for the grand opening, GPRS was able to provide a technician ASAP to perform the concrete scanning. After a thorough GPR investigation was performed, the precise location of the PT cables and reinforcing steel were marked directly onto the surface using black marking crayon and blue tape. The markings gave a clear indication of what lies beneath the surface. During the drilling process, the customer was able to avoid any post tension cables and reinforcing steel within each drilling location. Unlike x-ray/gamma ray, Ground Penetrating Radar is time efficient, non-hazardous and able to show real time results. The energy emitted is equivalent to 1% of a cell phone, therefore, the production of the construction site can continue without any radiation hazards. The findings are marked directly onto the surface without the need for film development.
