Ground Penetrating Radar Investigation on Post Tension Slab Prior To Soil Stabilization - Jenks, Oklahoma

GPRS performed a subsurface investigation for voids beneath the post tension concrete slab at a residential home in Jenks, Oklahoma. Wade Vickers of GPRS-Oklahoma discovered a massive void underneath the home that required immediate attention. The best solution was to drill holes and stabilize the soil by using filler. Once the stabilization holes were laid in approximate areas, GPRS was contacted to locate the post tension cables in each area. Due to the house condition, the location of the cables was marked directly onto the surface using blue tape. Marking the cables on the surface allowed the customer to avoid any post tension cables within the slab during the drilling process. Unlike x-ray/gamma ray, Ground Penetrating Radar is time efficient, non-hazardous and able to show real time results. The energy emitted is equivalent to 1% of a cell phone, therefore, the production of the construction site can continue without any radiation hazards.
