Ground Penetrating Radar Systems-Oklahoma was contacted by a local electrical contractor to provide a safe and clear drilling path prior to the installment of new conduits. Wade Vickers of GPRS-Oklahoma scanned the pan decking slab and marked out the reinforcing steel and Walker ducts within the proposed drilling areas at a rental car company’s data center in Oklahoma City, OK. GPRS gave a precise location of the electrical ducts and other obstructions within the slab, which gave the customer knowledge of what lies beneath the surface. Since the results were marked directly onto the surface, the customer was able to avoid any potential hazards during the core-drilling process. Ground Penetrating Radar is time efficient, non-hazardous and able to show real time results. Unlike x-ray/gamma ray, the energy emitted is equivalent to 1% of a cell phone, therefore, the production of the data center and its employees can continue without any radiation hazards.
