Locating Utilities Using Radar Imaging - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

When an energy company needed to install a new sign at the newly developed gas station, they had concerns of possible underground utilities running within the area. In order to locate the unmarked utilities, the energy company contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. to provide assistance. Wade Vickers of GPRS Oklahoma used the GPR system (capable of depths of 4-6 ft.) to scan the area of concern. After the subsurface scanning process was completed, multiple electrical conduits were located. Since Ground Penetrating Radar shows data in real time, the results were marked directly onto the surface using orange marking paint and pin flags to give the customer and driller knowledge of the utilities located beneath the surface. This ensures the customer can dig safely without costly setbacks and injuries. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. is the leading GPR service provider nationwide.
