Non-Hazardous Concrete X-ray Locates Post-Tension Cables and Reinforcing Steel - Tulsa, Oklahoma

When a general contractor needed the reinforcing steel and post tension cables located prior to anchoring support to a slab, they contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. to provide assistance. Wade Vickers-GPRS Oklahoma mobilized to a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma to perform a non-hazardous, non-destructive method of concrete scanning. Due to the portability of GPR, the scanning was performed on the underside of the slab. After the ground penetrating radar scanning was performed, the results were marked directly onto the surface to give the customer and driller a clear area for drilling. Ground Penetrating Radar can provide a precise location of post-tension cables and reinforcing steel without any hazardous radiation emitted. The process is efficient with real-time results and can be performed upon multiple surfaces both high and low.
