Post-Tension Cables and Rebar Located Prior To Core-Drilling in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Wade Vickers of GPRS-Oklahoma was contacted by a local core-drilling and saw-cutting company to mark out the post tension cables and reinforcing steel within the drilling areas at the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial parking garage in Oklahoma City, OK. The work was performed within multiple locations, in order to run new electrical conduits through the post-tension slab. After a thorough GPR investigation was performed, the precise location and depths of the PT cables and reinforcing steel were marked directly onto the surface using crayon. During the drilling process, the customer was able to avoid any post tension cables and reinforcing steel within each slab. Unlike x-ray/gamma ray, Ground Penetrating Radar is time efficient, non-hazardous and able to show real time results. The energy emitted is equivalent to 1% of a cell phone, therefore, the production of the construction site can continue without any radiation hazards.
