Wade Vickers of GPRS-Oklahoma was contacted to mark out the reinforcing steel within a shear wall prior to the installation of new lines in Tulsa, OK. Wade was able to give the precise location and depth of the reinforcing steel, which gave the customer a clear area to drill. Since the results were marked directly onto the surface, the customer was able to avoid any and rebar within the wall to preserve the structure’s integrity. Unlike x-ray/gamma ray, Ground Penetrating Radar is time efficient, non-hazardous and able to show real time results. The energy emitted is equivalent to 1% of a cell phone, therefore, the production of the construction site can continue without any radiation hazards.
