Shear Wall Scan For Reinforcing Steel Within a Shear Wall - Catoosa, OK

Prior to the installation of the new fire protection systems, the reinforcing steel needed to be located. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. was contacted to give a precise location of the steel within the shear wall before the core-drilling process at a casino in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Using the ground penetrating radar antenna capable of scanning 18-22 inches of concrete, Wade Vickers of GPRS-Oklahoma mobilized to the site and was able to give the precise location of the steel within the wall, which gave the customer clear areas to drill. Since the results were marked directly onto the surface, the customer was able to avoid any reinforcing steel within the wall during the core-drilling process. Ground Penetrating Radar is time efficient, non-hazardous and able to show real time results. The energy emitted is equivalent to 1% of a cell phone, therefore, the production of the construction site can continue without any radiation hazards.
